Introducing a part of the FY2022 internal safety management meeting
(Reporting examples from near miss reporting sessions and safety meetings)

  • Dangerous area: Parking lots with many sightseeing customers
In large parking lots such as those at famous sightseeing spots, service areas on expressways, and the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Area Parking Lot within the prefecture, extreme caution is required when backing into a parking lot, as sightseeing guests may walk in front of or behind the bus due to sudden movements or unpredictable behavior.
When backing up, be sure to open the window and pay attention to noise. Particular care must be taken of pedestrians using their smartphones while walking. Particular care must also be taken when there are many buses parked for inbound tourists. Be extremely careful when setting off.

  • Danger area: Expressway
Driving in the rain requires great care, but it is especially important to be careful on the San'in Expressway and Yonago Expressway, where visibility can suddenly deteriorate even if you maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, making it extremely dangerous.
The roads are full of dangerous spots, with elevation changes and sections with on-coming traffic. During the sightseiing season and on weekends, drivers who are not used to driving their own cars will be driving, so be careful. Drive safely and keep a larger distance than usual.

  • Danger areas: Prefectural general roads, etc.
Share near-miss cases and work to improve safety awareness among all drivers.

Regarding safety management efforts, it was confirmed that they are generally appropriate in terms of suitability and effectiveness.
