From Okayama to Naoshima – What We Learned by Actually Going There
We have been receiving more and more transfer requests to Naoshima. On the map, the route from Okayama to Uno Port looks simple.
But after visiting the port and the island with five of our drivers, we realized something important:

Small timing differences make a big difference.
We checked the vehicle lanes, boarding flow, road width, and even the security system around the Benesse area. We wanted to see it with our own eyes before guiding our customers.
The 9:22 AM Ferry Is Busy – Very Busy
The 9:22 AM departure from Uno Port tends to be the most crowded.
Many travelers:
・Arrive by Shinkansen that morning
・Check out from hotels in Okayama or Kurashiki
・Head straight to Naoshima museums
Vehicle lanes operate on a first-come basis, and space is limited.
Arriving just “on time” can feel stressful.
Arriving a little early feels much better.

When Should You Arrive?
Boarding opens 15 minutes before departure.
If your vehicle is boarding the ferry,
we recommend arriving about 30 minutes early.
If we are dropping you off at the ferry terminal only,
10 minutes before departure is usually sufficient.
Many guests prefer:
・Drop-off at Uno Port
・Pick-up later in the afternoon
We are happy to arrange both.
What If You Arrive Early?
There are no major attractions around Uno Port.
It is a working port.
If your vehicle is boarding the ferry, you can simply relax inside the car until departure.
No need to wander around with luggage.
About Benesse Area Access
Benesse facilities require advance reservations.
Without a reservation, vehicles cannot enter certain areas.

English Support
